Budapest Household Energy Prices Still Among Lowest of European Capitals

Household electricity and gas prices in Budapest are still among the lowest among Europeans capitals, date compiled by the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority (MEKH), Energie-Control Austria and Finnish energy consultancy VaasaETT show.

 

A document published by MEKH shows electricity cost 10.59 euro cents per kWh, including taxes, in the Hungarian capital in July. In comparison with 29 other European capitals, prices were cheaper only in Belgrade. Household electricity prices were dearest in Berlin, at 33.39 euro cents per kWh. Residential gas prices in Budapest were 2.87 euro cents per kWh, the cheapest among the 26 capitals compared. Household gas prices were highest in Stockholm, at 22.35 euro cents per kWh.
