A person was hit by a passenger train traveling from Lökösháza to Budapest in Sülysáp, at the Szőlősnyaraló station, the disaster management announced on its website early Sunday evening. The press service of the Pest County Police Headquarters (PMRFK) informed MTI that a woman was hit and killed by the train.
According to the disaster management, about four hundred people were traveling on the train. After the volunteer firefighters from Sülysáp, the professional firefighters from Nagykáta had also arrived on the scene, the units provided assistance in the safe transfer of passengers.
Kornél Hadházi, the PMRFK’s press officer, told MTI that rail transport had been available on one track.
