The police caught eight people and took another thirty-two to various police stations in Hajdú-Bihar County yesterday.
Seven perpetrators were caught in the act of committing crimes and another one was taken into custody on the basis of a warrant for arrest issued by the court of Debrecen. One person was taken to a police station as a suspect.
There were five traffic accidents from which all resulted in minor injuries.
A 51 year old man was caught stealing a bottle of wine and a bottle of beer yesterday afternoon in a supermarket in Debrecen. After the security guards called the police, the perpetrator was taken to the police station where a procedure was initiated against him on reasonable suspicion of theft.
A 42 year old man was taken to the police station for beating his wife, a 35 year old woman. The neighbors notified the police about the situation, after which the local resident was taken away. A procedure was initiated against him on reasonable suspicion of assault.
