World War II Ammunition Found Near Gárdony

Several World War II ammunitions were found near Gárdony in Fejér County, the Hungarian Defense Forces’ firearms regiment announced on its Facebook page on Sunday.

 

According to their post, a report was received from the outskirts of Gárdony that suspected explosive devices were found during earthworks.

During the instrumental inspection of the area, the fire engineers of the National Guard lifted 10 pieces of 76 mm Soviet artillery fragmentation ammunition and one 12.7 mm infantry ammunition from the ground.

The soldiers transported the devices to the central collection point of the Hungarian Defense Forces for later destruction, they wrote.
