Magyar Posta has decided to close thirty-five post offices with low-traffic in Budapest, MTI reports.
The last opening day of the post offices to be closed is Friday, October 7th, the company announced on Friday. The websites of MTI and Magyar Posta do not mention which post offices are to be closed. Magyar Posta Zrt., on the other hand, has regulations: instead of the statutory 66 post offices, 12 post offices are available to customers in Budapest even after the closure.
The closure is justified by the “energy crisis caused by sanctions”: in the European energy crisis caused by the current sanctions, it is important for everyone, the population, state and non-state institutions, and workplaces to think and act more consciously in terms of energy saving, they said.
