The HUNFILEX 2022 philatelic world exhibition opened in Budapest on Thursday.
In his opening address, Speaker of Parliament László Kövér said the event opened the world of stamps to the curious. “We want stamps in the future to be about peace, scientific discovery, technical innovations, about respect for the past and traditions, sports records and magnificent cultural achievements, economic prosperity, the wonders of nature and world conferences,” he said. On display at the exhibition are 300 collections from 44 countries. The Hungarian post office has issued several special stamps to mark the occasion.
