According to his mother, a five-year-old boy with hearing impairments, integration and learning disabilities could have had his mouth washed with soap in a kindergarten in the capital, RTL Híradó has learned.
The head of the kindergarten said only the child’s face was washed with water by a pedagogical assistant to deal with a difficult situation. The employee was verbally warned by the kindergarten teacher and is now initiating a detailed investigation.
The mother said she would transfer her child, who was very distressed by the incident, to another kindergarten from January. She said her son has had trouble sleeping ever since, often crying, and was afraid to go near the bathroom for days. He didn’t even want to go to kindergarten for three weeks, a psychologist also helps him process the trauma.
The parents have filed a police complaint about child abuse, and the case is under investigation.
