Used for military purposes years ago, the Sámsoni Street area is now a brownfield belt. Within the framework of an EU tender, the local government may find a new function for it in the future.
In the program, unused industrial areas or barracks are reconstructed instead of green areas. “When a city is expanding it’s very important to use these areas for the investments instead of green ones” – said Zsolt Kassai master builder. The tender participants gave a report to each other about the investments carried out successfully and the plans for the future in the County House. The county municipality intends to discover reusable areas in Hajdú-Bihar County in the future. The aim of the project is to convince the local politicians about the importance of reconstructing brownfield belts as they will be the ones to decide about the developments of these areas.
